You continue to hang at the bar with the Viking.  Brother Nitrous wanders off and disappears into the back yard.

Across the room, you see a couple dressed like Frankenstein's Monster and the Bride of Frankenstein enter the ballroom, accompanied by a big bruiser in a gorilla suit.  You recognize the couple as Governor Asher and his wife, Helen.  You assume the gorilla is a secret service agent.

After a brief exchange with her husband, Helen starts walking in your direction, towards the bar.  Behind her, you see Wellman hurrying towards the front hall after speaking briefly with the Governor, who moves over to the fireplace and throws an arm around Little Red Riding Hood (while Brother Foooz looks on in consternation).

Helen Asher orders a drink from the bartender, then grabs the Viking by the arm and says, "Gus, thank God you're here."  With that, she takes the muscular young man by the arm and leads him to the other end of the bar (by the door to the dining room), speaking in low, urgent tones.

Just then, you hear a scream and a crash from the second floor.
