CONSULTING
If you're having trouble finishing a screenplay (or even getting started), I
may be able to help!
1. Contact
The first step is to write and say hi! My e-mail address is baitshop3@gmail.com, and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have about myself and/or the process of screenplay consultation
through NewEnglandScreenwriters.com!
2. Registration
The next (optional but recommended) step is to register whatever original material
you've generated (notes, an outline, a treatment, scenes, etc.) with the Writer's Guild of America. Registration provides objective, third-party verification of your claim to an original piece of writing,
essentially proving your original written material existed as of the date of registration, thus helping to protect your rights
in case of any future creative disputes.
But remember: nobody owns ideas. What registration protects are
the details of your particular VERSION of an idea. (And that's a good thing: otherwise somebody would already
own every conceivable story concept, from "boy meets girl" to "underdog team wins sports championship against all odds," etc.,
and then where would we be?) For more information on script registration click here.
3. Release Form
Whether or not you have written material for me to read, the next step is to click
on the RELEASE FORM link.
Print out the page, then sign and e-mail a .pdf of the release form to baitshop3@gmail.com OR mail a signed hard copy of the form to New England Screenwriters, P.O. Box 43345, Somerville, MA 02143. (Sorry for all the release form
legal-ese, but it's the best way to protect us both from any misunderstandings...feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns!)
4. Sending Material
If you send your release form by regular mail, you can also include a hard copy of any material
you'd like me to read before our consultation.
If you'd prefer to e-mail your material as a digital file, first e-mail or mail the
signed release form. I'll notify you when I receive the form, at which point you can e-mail your material as a Word
(.doc), Rich Text Format (.rtf), Final Draft (.fdr) or Adobe (.pdf) file.
Remember, I cannot accept or read any material without a signed release form!
5. Consultation & Payment
Once I receive your signed release form, I'll contact you to arrange a one-on-one
consultation (in person or by phone) about your project. Current rates are listed below. For payment options or
to make a payment, click the PAYMENT link.
