SUSPECT

8:05 P.M.
A cab motors you down a tree-lined driveway and up to the door of the sprawling Ashcroft estate.  The driveway is filled with luxury cars, and the grounds stretch off along the east side of the mansion.  You notice stables and a hedge maze just north of the driveway.

8:10 P.M.

As you disembark the cab and pay the driver, you notice a couple dressed as Frankenstein's Monster and the Bride of Frankenstein emerging from a nearby limousine, accompanied by a big bruiser in a gorilla costume.

Frankenstein and the Bride seem to be in the middle of an argument, and as they raise their voices, you recognize them as Governor Asher and his wife, Helen.  You assume the gorilla must be a secret service agent.

Curious to hear what the Ashers are arguing about, you slip into the shadows before they notice you.  To your great surprise, the Governor suddenly hisses, "Shut your mouth!" and slaps his wife so hard that she nearly tumbles backwards onto the driveway.  The gorilla doesn't react, as if he's used to the Governor's behavior.

"I'm sorry, sir" Helen replies meekly, wiping a trickle of blood from her lip.

"Don't make me angry tonight,"  the Governor snarls, grabbing his wife by the hand and dragging her into the party.  The gorilla glances around quickly, then follows the unhappy couple.

You wait in the shadows until you're sure the group is gone, then enter the mansion behind them.

8:15 P.M.

"He's The Greatest Dancer" by Sister Sledge can be heard playing somewhere in the distance.

Stepping into the mansion, you find yourself in an ornate entry hall with a stairway leading up to the second floor.  There is a closed door in the west wall and an open door across from it that apparently leads to a ballroom.  Beyond the stairway, you see that the hall continues and opens into a long gallery lined with art.  In the middle of the gallery, you see an old-fashioned, free-standing elevator.

An old butler is lying on top of an overturned motorcycle in the middle of the floor.  Several people are standing around him, including the Governor and Helen Asher, the gorilla, a man in a Sheik costume, a Sexy Vampire and your frat buddies Brother Puris and Brother Sputum.

"M-my pills!" the butler gasps, clutching his heart.

"Don't worry, Smythe!" the Sheik replies, charging up to the second floor with the Sexy Vampire.  "We'll get them!"

"Well, it seems everything is under control here," the Governor says blithely, leading Helen and the gorilla into the ballroom.

Just then, you hear a scream and a loud crash from the second floor.

If you pull a cool steak from your meat costume and lay it on Smythe's forehead, then ask Brothers Puris and Sputum what's happening and head into the ballroom, click here.
